HOT OFF THE PRESS! Lean In. Say YES.

I got the surprise of my life today!

“We would like to invite you out to our Golf Classic this year to be our most VIP Guest!” I had to stop a minute to make sure I was seeing this right.

I am not a golfer. Proof.( I was with a group that was invited to exit a golf course.)

Still numb, I hope YOU, the doers and the donors, will find this an inspiration to LEAN IN today with this article. Your life will be better because you do.

Nine years ago I met a woman with an impossible dream. She grabbed my heart with her determination and willingness to risk it all for those they believed in. Adults with unique abilities whom education is not offered after they reach the age of 22 and up to grade 12. No lifelong learning. Nothing.

With bravery and her unstoppable self, she picked up her lance in true Quixotic fashion and fought the the dragons for what is truly meet, right and salutary. Each day they built 1% more.

I LEANED IN immediately feeling like Sancho Panza at times. Believing and hoping and doing what I could with time, treasure, and talent, wishing I could do more…frustrated, I was disappointed at times. If I only knew the right people who could and would help. I felt alone and alone for the wonderful students and their mentors.

Deanna Pursai and Dr. Pamela Lindsay have turned dragons into windmills.

We raised over six figures at the gala this year and seven figures are promised to roll in shortly. Hundreds have been moved by this model, and now thousands in the future.

The College of Adaptive Arts landed at West Valley College with love, respect and inclusivity. Lifelong learners they are!

THREE THINGS:

Don’t ghost those who need you.

Lean In and Let Joy, Peace and Love rain. (Miraculous things grow from this)

We all are depending on you.
